"Mitt Moderna" was me and my team's graduation project at Broby Grafiska. The idea was to bring the Swedish modern arts museum Moderna Museet to life for people who usually would not or could not visit the museum physically. We aimed to bring it into the digital arena and to enable this newfound audience to help create the museum they'd like to see.
The solution is a campaign in three stages that takes the audience from simply expressing their thoughts about the art displayed at Moderna Museet to creating their own art and then letting a select someone create their own proper exhibit at the museum. Our focus was on the second stage – letting people create their own art via a web application. You can find this web application and the rest of the campaign website by clicking the link below.
Stage 1 – react to art
Stage 2 – create your own art
Stage 3 – the winner creates their own exhibit
Getting from A to Z in this project was not the most straight-forward process. A large part of it was coming up with a creative digital solution that we felt could make an actual difference. For the museum but also for society in general. A lot of time was spent brainstorming and scribbling on whiteboards and lot of ideas regarding modern and upcoming digital technologies were considered but in the end we settled for something simple but expandable. An app that could help bring the ideas people already have to life, to let them create their own art in a playful manner.
